Re: A Ruin in the distance
Murbib nodded and the tribal warriors he brought went through the massacred herd, and started to sort through the mammoth corpses.
Once he began following the Drider he would have to for some time, until the drider took an odd turn up a mountain. Then Mythrandiel would see why, there was a dwarven mine in this mountain, and he went into a back entrance. He did that because the main entrance had a rather gigantic dwarven blockade, and there were quite a few drider and dwarven bodies between the large main entrance, and the Dwarven blockade.

Mythrandiel would mark the back entrance in his mind and head toward the Dwarven blockade flying around it once very non menacingly and landed close but not too close as to frighten the dwarves and walked up slowly, As he saw them from afar he felt the knowledge flood into his mind. " Hello Dwarven friends, I come in friendship and good will, I see you are fighting those Drider monstrosities, They are using a back entrance to send out small parties to hunt they might be able to use it to flank you at night"

Re: A Ruin in the distance
Most of the dwarves were very taken aback seeing this dragon land, but their leader walked up to them and said "Dragon, if what you say is true that's why they've lasted so long inside the mine shaft, there are no other ways out...at least we though. We had heard reports that Dragons had returned to the world but one being so close is slightly disconcerting...Can you block that entrance for us? As a sign of good will?"
Re: A Ruin in the distance
" I most certainly can. I although was never gone. 100 years ago something thrust my egg from the twin paradises and eventually catapulted it through the fabric of this plane and it collided atop the tall mountain ( forgot name) and buried my egg. I hatched alone and hibernated till just yesterday. I saw the monsters slaughtering a herd of Mammoth as I and my kobold tribe were hunting. The drider were using magik not their own also"

Re: A Ruin in the distance
The dwarf raised an eyebrow "We can talk about how you weren't taken by the spell another time. But yes, these driders are blessed by something of the Abyss as far as we can tell. Another realm, that they shouldn't be able to connect with."
Re: A Ruin in the distance
" Well, I shall seal the back entrance. Are there any other possible openings? Or any rock or metal debris you may not be needing I can use it to melt a large plug into the cave entrance."

Re: A Ruin in the distance
The dwarf thought for a moment and shook his head "If you could just cave that entrance in, there shouldnt be any other way for them to get out. We don't have any materials to spare, we're at war with the biggest group of Driders in recorded history you see...we don't even know how many there are."
Re: A Ruin in the distance
I'll simply just melt the opening closed. I will return shortly.

Re: A Ruin in the distance
The dwarf nodded and went back to commanding his forces, the opening was devoid of Driders, he would have no issue sealing it closed quickly.
Re: A Ruin in the distance
Mythrandiel did just that he caved in a large portion of the cave as deeply as his clawed arm would reach. and then would take the time needed to use his breath and melt the stone and any trace minerals to themselves and to the cave ityself, He then would return to the Dwarven fortress.

Re: A Ruin in the distance
When he returned the Dwarven lord walked over to him and smiled "I assume that means the door is sealed. My name is Baroth Forgeson, Lord of this mine. What is your name, dragon?"

Re: A Ruin in the distance
"The privilege is like wise Mythrandiel, Dragons are myths to my people. It's quite the treat to see one of you alive. Now then, you said you live near here with a tribe of uh....Kobolds you said?"
Re: A Ruin in the distance
"Yes" Mythrandiel would go on to explain the circumstances of his egg falling from the sky, and how he came to survive and awaken and the events of the day. " And that brought me here."

Re: A Ruin in the distance
"Sounds a little bit like something the native dwarves would know a bit, we are refugees, we ran from Blaze Hill, but were turned away from every other dwarven hold, so we just...quietly occupied this abandoned mine, but we dug a bit too deep it seems."
Re: A Ruin in the distance
" Friend Forgeson, if you wish I have taken residence in an ancient Dwarven fortress. It is not in the best shape, but it remains sturdy and if you can work with the Kobold tribe that follows me know, I am sure it would be quite a magnificent home.

Re: A Ruin in the distance
Baroth nodded "That would probably be a better place, where in the mountains is it?"
Re: A Ruin in the distance
Mythrandiel would tell him where it was and the easiest way to get there. " I will ensure my tribes of kobolds is aware you are friends."

Re: A Ruin in the distance
"That high up on a mountain... at least the chances of digging into the under dark are pretty minor up there. We will come, but the Driders here, they have to be held back. If they get out the whole area is at risk. But we can't get in, there is an Abyssal shield over the entrance."
Re: A Ruin in the distance
"I was able to break their personal shield , with some effort. May I have a crack at it?"

Re: A Ruin in the distance
The dwarf nodded and said "If you wish to try, go ahead. Nothing we have could break through it."
Re: A Ruin in the distance
Mythrandiel would step closer to the mine entrance and concentrated on trying to focus his power into a small spot to try and break the shield trying to remember how the drider's shield broke in his battle earlier.

Re: A Ruin in the distance
The shield did not break, he could tell though that it was being held open by something far more powerful than a drider, perhaps by this King of the Deep they mentioned. The shield was probably shaped to the contours of the hall so the tunneling in method, a method dwarves may employ being a race of miners, would not work.
Re: A Ruin in the distance
This is far more powerful then the Driders shields. they mentioned a King of the deep that was giving them power. Perhaps we can bury the entrance, cause a rock slide and I can melt the rocks over the entrance. they'd atleast be trapped within.?"

Re: A Ruin in the distance
"If this King of the Deep has the power to keep out a dragon, I assume he has the power to blast some rocks out of the way. But it would be better than nothing, that sounds like a good idea Mythrandiel."
